Kittens, senior pets, hairless cats and short-haired small dogs are more sensitive to temperature. This is also the category with the highest electrical-safety risk, so read the safety notes first.
These products carry mains power, and pets chew things.
Overheat protection is mandatory
If temperature control fails, a few tens of degrees is enough to burn a pet. Confirm overheat cut-off exists and is stated in the manual.
The cable must resist chewing
Cats and puppies both chew cables. Prefer a braided-metal or chew-resistant conduit cable.
Never leave a drying cabinet unattended
However good the manual is, do not shut a pet in a drying cabinet and leave the house. That is common sense, not a product flaw.
Quick buy / skip.
Kittens, seniors, hairless cats, short-haired small dogs → worth it. Long-haired dogs, healthy adult cats, homes already heated in winter → probably not. A drying cabinet only makes sense for long-haired dogs bathed often; cats rarely tolerate one.
